SHRINE
The mythical concert hall of the father of Afrobeat, Fela Kuti, now taken over by his son Femi on the Mainland, in a large hangar where the place's rich musical and political heritage can be felt vibrating with power. The Shrine takes on its full meaning during the concerts of Femi - and his group, The Positive Force - or his brother Seun, the icon's two sons, both of whom are great showmen and incredible musicians. The dancers who accompany them are just as exceptional, and entertain an audience often dotted with faithful followers of the Kuti-religion, just like the marie-jeanne. If the political commitment of the sons is not that of the father, who was persecuted throughout his life, it is not uncommon to see them leave in very committed speeches or songs: beware then, everyone takes it for his rank! Nigerian snack bars and various drinks are available on the sides, at very low prices. The New Afrika Shrine is an essential part of Nigerian culture, for those who are not afraid to venture out at night.
