ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE / MIKE ADENUGA CENTER
Culture never sleeps at the Alliance française, which has been offering a rich and varied programme since its opening in the summer of 2019, equal to its brand new infrastructures. Cinema, theatre, art gallery, media library, language courses, French bakery and restaurant, it is all this at the same time that Mike Adenuga Center is home to an eclectic community of Francophones, Nigerians, expatriates and Francophiles. The project was born from a pioneering Franco-Nigerian collaboration entirely financed by the patron Mike Adenuga, Africa's second richest man and a lover of France. Inaugurated by President Emmanuel Macron himself, the building was completed in less than a year under the direction of a Nigerian architectural firm. The Cultural Centre is now one of the most active in the country, with programming influenced by Nigerians, French and French speakers, to be followed on the Alliance's social networks.
Cinema: a brand new projection room with large red seats and an elegant wooden stage, with a capacity of 120 seats. 3 films for adults per week and 2 films for children. English or French with subtitles.
Art gallery: the only one in the country to meet international standards, it offers a new exhibition every three weeks, with all the works on display for sale.
Concerts: two concerts per week, usually on Fridays and Saturdays. Nigerian and international artists, classical or contemporary music.
Festivals: follow the program not to miss the series of Nigerian festivals planned in the Alliance's premises: Aké Arts & Books Festival, Lagos Photo, Afrif pour le Cinéma, a dance festival..
