TARQWA BAY BEACH
Go there and contact
A pretty lively and popular beach a short boat ride from the centre, Tarqwa Bay is Lagossiens beach, a Sunday outing for young Nigerians and Lebanese from the city. The crossing that takes you there will allow you to observe some of the musts of Lagos: in turn the Yacht Club, the Port with the Lagos Island skyline in the background, the Federal Palace on the left, the small private beach of the Yacht Club recognizable by its white sand on the right and finally Eko Atlantic, where the towers gradually target the sky. In the early morning and depending on the tide, surfers taste the waves that throw themselves against the pier at the end of the beach, then the place gradually comes to life in the early afternoon with groups of friends who come to celebrate their birthday with a lot of music, shisha and barbecue. Many sellers of basketry, necklaces, clothing in loincloths and coconut water walk the beach in search of the barge. Young people on horseback offer you walks along the water. It is another taste of Lagos that you discover when you taste its grilled fish (beware of the grandfather!) with a view of the ocean! Try the little digestive walk to Lighthouse beach at the end of the pier, for a completely different atmosphere.
