Created in 2007 in Lagos by Azu Nwagbogu, the Foundation aims to be a platform for the arts in Africa, and organizes monthly exhibitions, film screenings, plays, discussions with authors, debates on social issues and book readings. It is also AAF which organizes every year between October and November the Lagos Photo Festival, renowned for its quality and eclecticism. The association is very committed to training, diversity, the place of women in society and the accessibility of culture.
