The beating heart of Duke Town, the maze covered with sheet metal stalls overflows largely on the road, and generates traffic jams and animation. Around the statue of Bassey Duke - a merchant and traditional authority at the end of the 19th century - everything is sold with a lot of music, colours and interpellations: clothes, fruit and vegetables, bibles, furniture, fabrics, firewood... It was inaugurated in 1901 by James Watt, an English navigator who gave it his name.
