SLAVE HISTORY MUSEUM
A modest but high-quality museum that traces the entire journey and life of a slave from his capture to his integration into American society once the slave trade is abolished and slaves freed. Various objects, photos and even sound and light! After the museum's electricity problems, we also appreciate the last rooms on Nigerian culture and arts, from the Nok civilization to that of Benin, with unfortunately very little art on display, but many photos that give a good overview. Various objects related to the daily life of the slave trade are on display, as well as Nigerian and Western figures of slavery and abolition. It is reported that nearly 40% of slaves from Africa were sent from Nigeria, more than 1.1 million between 1690 and 1907.
