The Climont, from the Latin clivus mons, a magical mountain that served as a hiding place for many monks in Colroy-la-Roche.
The Climont rewards, when you climb its 970 meters, by a magnificent and impregnable view on the surrounding valleys. An even more incredible picture can be discovered by climbing to the top of the Julius Euting Panoramic Tower built at the end of the 19th century by the Club Vosgien. The word Climont, in Latin clivus mons, and in Winkberg dialect, both refer to its cleaved form. Many legends are related to this magic mountain, which has been a hiding place for many monks and sects of all kinds over the decades.
