PARADE STRAND
Established in 1979, the winery allows visitors to discover the winemaking process and the history of their most emblematic wines
Javier and Alvaro, two brothers with the air of sophisticated cowboys, welcome you to a home of shock and charm. Since its foundation in 1979, Torreón de Paredes has developed its winemaking activities while preserving its family tradition. The Andes Mountains, located a few kilometres away, are not always visible, but can be felt. Here, it is very cool in the morning, and the heat only arrives in the early afternoon: exceptional conditions for the vine. The estate's underground water comes from the eternal snows that crystallize in the soil: the grapes are poetically nicknamed the fruits of the Andes, inviting you to a unique gustatory journey... In English or Spanish, the visit continues among the redwoods, the centenary bougainvilleas and the old buildings that are more than 300 years old: the estate was a strategic place during the war of independence. A detour to the oldest wine cellar of the vineyard will make you discover the wine making process. With Gregorian songs playing in the background, your guide will tell you the history of their most emblematic wines. All the production is stored here: a few candles rise in the darkness and 30,000 bottles sleep quietly in the half-light. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a rigorous double selection process. An excellent moment where you can savour more than just the aromas of the wine, the history also has its place in this guided tour and this is not to our displeasure
