Slightly set back from the port and in a small alley, the place is very pleasant. The Cavo d'Oro, a quasi-institution, has been operating as a restaurant since 1897. He spreads out his tables outside in a narrow alley where you can enjoy grilled meat to order. Also take fish, casseroles and stews. By the way, feel free to have a look in the kitchen. The portions are copious and the menu varies according to the season. The service is friendly, and the place is crowded... but not by tourists!

Εξαιρετικά μαγειρευτά και κρέας. Σε συνδιασμό με την ατμόσφαιρα του μαγαζιού και την γρήγορη εξυπηρέτηση θα πρότεινα σε όσους επιθυμούν να επισκεφθούν την Εύοια και συγκεκριμένα την Κάρυστο να γευματίσουν στο μαγαζί αυτό. Να σημειωθεί επίσης πως δεν μπορούν να γίνουν κρατήσεις τραπεζιών. Επίσης κύριε Θεώδορε Χίλιε το να βάζετε πέντε αστέρια για κρητικές στα McDonald's και στα Goody's Burger House ενώ στο εστιατόριο αυτό να βάζετε ένα αστέρι κατά την δική μου γνώμη είναι εποιηκώς απαράδεκτο.

Simply the best restaurant in Karystos! Authentic Greek cuisine made in the traditional manner. Say hello to Kyriakos, the owner. This restaurant has been in his family for 90+ years and established in 1897! We miss it already.
