The mountains, which include about thirty peaks, culminating at over 1,000 meters, offer a striking biodiversity.
335 km north of Baie-Comeau, the Groulx Mountains, also known as the Uapishka Mountains (white peaks), are home to some 30 peaks that culminate at over 1,000 metres. Biodiversity is striking: in one day you move from a thick boreal forest to a taiga sparse with black spruce, and eventually to the Arctic tundra. Four access points: km 335, 349, 352 and 365 of Route 389 North (Trans-Québec-Labrador Highway).
