EXCURSION DANS LA COMBE DE VERTOSAN
For an excursion in the beautiful Vertosan coomb, park your car either at the Vedun car park in the commune of Saint-Nicolas or in the hamlet of Vens, always in the same commune. The marvellous uncontaminated valley, divided between the communes of Avise and Saint-Nicolas, is the place of origin of the famous battles of the queens, which are still held there every year. To enter the coomb, just follow the dirt track from the car park or the path that runs alongside the ru de Vens from the hamlet of the same name. After a walk in the middle of the flowery meadows, with a view of the beautiful surrounding mountains, a visit to the Maisonnettes mountain pasture, where it is possible to taste one of the best Fontina in the region, will delight young and old alike! Continuing along the same path, you arrive at the Trattoria Lo Gran Baou, a gourmet stopover where you will be seduced by the dishes of the local cuisine in a green alpine setting. The valley can also be explored by bike or with snowshoes during the winter season.
