RANDONNÉE AU LAC DE FOND
At the village of La Clusaz (in the commune of Avise), continue on the left until you reach a bend at which you will find the starting point of the path (upstream of the road). The latter climbs through a wood first planted with deciduous trees, then with conifers; then it passes near the ruins of the Benevy mountain pasture and ends up in the pastures, near a basin of the aqueduct. Going up again, you reach a plateau covered with boulders; the walk continues on a path in the middle of the pastures that momentarily runs alongside the torrent, then crosses it to the left, before climbing another slope that leads to another plateau. Crossing the torrent again to the right, the path continues on flat ground up to the remains of the Baraques du Fond mountain pasture. Shortly after the alpine pasture, the path turns right and climbs to Lac du Fond. Crossing the abandoned mountain pastures, one would almost regret being born human and not bovine to stay up there all summer long.
