SENTIER NATURE ET RU NEUF

There are a number of walks and hikes available from Etroubles, two of which are particularly interesting.

Nature trail: start: Etroubles at 1,264 m. Finish: Frazione Prenoud at 1,312 m. Difference in altitude: 48 m. Duration: 35 minutes.

From the parking lot near the Etroubles Tunnel campsite, take dirt trail^no. 6C, which climbs slightly. It winds through the woods along the Artanavaz torrent and reaches the picnic area at Prenoud, at the entrance to the Flassin valley. More experienced hikers can continue their tour of this wild valley along itinerary 7. The latter continues to the Tsa de Flassin mountain pasture (2,249 m) along a forest path (2h50 walk).

Ru neuf: start: Etroubles. Arrival: Plan d'Avie - Aoste. Difference in altitude: 623 meters positive and as many negative. Duration: 3h05 + return.

A very long route along one of the many rus or irrigation canals. From Etroubles, take the path to Echevennoz, which continues to Chez les Blanc and then La Clusaz. You'll then cross the asphalt road twice and pass under a climbing area. The route then leads to the village of Roisod above the hamlet of Excenex (Aosta). From here, take signposted path^no. 103 which leads to a former vacation camp and the hamlet of Plan d'Avie above the village of Arpuilles, a vast expanse of pasture dotted with stone houses.
