TOUR DU MONT AVIC - PARCOURS ORANGE
The tour of Mont Avic, also known as the "orange route", is another circular route through the Chalamy and Clavalité valleys, looping around the park's emblematic mountain. From the Veulla parking lot, take the path up the Fié valley via the agritourism La Maison du Lord (1,790 m) to the Col Varotta (2,588 m). The trail then crosses the Ponton valley (itineraries 7 and 2b) in the commune of Chambave to the Col de Bella Lana, where it enters the Clavalité valley. Following the signs for routes 2d and 3, you reach the Col de Raye Chevrère (2,698 m) near the lake of the same name, from where you can easily descend to Lac Gelé. From here, you can either return to Veulla, or do the Tour des Lacs in reverse, staying at the Refuge Barbustel.
