ESGLÉSIA PARROQUIAL DE SANT FÈLIX
Pre-Romanesque parish church with a single nave and a Romanesque portal carved in stone from the same period.
Hidden in a narrow street in the heart of what was once the medieval village of Canovelles, the parish church, of pre-Romanesque origin, dates from the 11th century. Its architecture is characteristic of early Romanesque art, with a single nave flanked by a semicircular apse and two transverse apses decorated with Lombard arches. The nave was enlarged during the 13th century with the construction of the cross vault and the bell tower-wall. To the west, the Romanesque portal carved in stone dates from the same period. In 1678, the neighbouring house, Can Castells, was added to the church in order to guarantee private access to the gallery to the owners of the masia, the Magarola family.
