Castle at 648 m of altitude with the best preserved walls having under its jurisdiction 3 parishes
At 684 metres above sea level, in the extreme northwest of the Pla de la Creu del Romaní, the remains of the Montmany castle are enthroned. Popularly known as the "Castle of the Moors", the fortress has been documented since 1187, although it is believed to be older. The castle had three parishes under its jurisdiction: Sant Pau de Montmany, Sant Pere de Vallcàrquera and Sant Cristòfol de Monteugues. The south and east walls are the best preserved. The building is partly in ruins. Contemplate the horizon that stretches to the sea and the city of Barcelona!
