ESGLÉSIA DE SANT PERE DE VILAMAJOR
Late Gothic church in Sant Pere de Vilamajor with a nave decorated with modern elements
It was called the "Cathedral of El Vallès" because of the many works of art it housed. The church of Sant Pere was restored by members of the La Rectoria art centre. It was built between 1581 and 1610, in a Tariff Gothic style, on the site of the former holiday palace of the Counts of Barcelona. Inside, the artists of La Rectoria decorated the nave with modern elements. On the façade of the church, finally, is the tombstone of the priest Orila, who died in 872, at the age of 80.
