The chapel of Santa María, located in the old village of Montnegre, at the extreme south-east of Vallès Oriental, was abandoned from 1936 onwards and restored in 2009 at the instigation of the inhabitants of the village. The building flourishes among oak and chestnut trees. From here, a signposted route, the GR-5 (white and red), takes you to the church of Sant Martí del Montnegre through the forest, passing by the small fountain of El Degotall and the finca de Can Preses.
