AJUNTAMENT DE SANTA MARIA DE PALAUTORDERA
City Hall of modernist architectural influence with a building and a former slaughterhouse of the city
In the 1920s, a wind of modernity blew over the village. Designed by the architect Josep Domènech i Mansana in 1929, the town hall bears witness to the influence of modernist architecture in the Vallès Oriental. Its symmetrical façade is noteworthy for its numerous windows. The building consists of a central body, framed by two smaller bodies, with a ground floor and two upper floors. At the top, the clock was added later, in 1967. Mansana's works also include the Escorxador (1930), the town's former slaughterhouse.
