Medieval castle preserving the remains of the wall, the cylindrical tower and the ruined chapel
Erected in the 11th century at the instigation of Guillem de Sesagudes i Montseny, the castle of Montclús was one of the most important fortresses of the Montseny. It stands on the top of the "Hill of the Moors", a strategic site that made it famous as an impregnable fortress. Among the remains preserved are the remains of a wall crowned with battlements, as well as a cylindrical tower and a ruined chapel. The remains of the wall bear witness to the importance of the castle in medieval times. Around it, there is a forest of eucalyptus trees and the remains of an old Iberian village.
