CAN CARRENCÀ
Monumental complex and cellar transformed into a multi-purpose hall hosting cultural events and exhibitions
A monumental complex comprising a 17th century farmhouse, a Baroque chapel dedicated to Sant Domènec, a masoveria and a well. It is one of the most important agricultural properties in the area. It was first mentioned in the 12th century. The site once housed a flour mill and probably other annexed buildings that have not been preserved. The house is surrounded by vast agricultural fields where vines were mainly cultivated before the arrival of phylloxera. In 1985 the Town Hall acquired the whole of Can Carrencà and converted the cellar into a multipurpose hall for cultural events and exhibitions. It is here that the municipal market is held on Saturday mornings.
