MUSEU ABELLÓ
Museum with an important part of the collection, permanent exhibitions, works of art and objects of all kinds
Painter and collector, Joan Abelló i Prat was born in Mollet del Vallès in 1922. The museum that bears his name, in the centre of Mollet, displays a large part of the collection that the artist bequeathed to his native town (around 10,000 works). In a modernist building dating from 1908, it houses two permanent exhibitions: one devoted to the work of Joan Abelló, and the other to the evolution of Catalan modern art in the 19th and 20th centuries (Dalí, Tàpies, Miró, Hugué...). The visit to the museum should be combined with a visit to the House of the Painter (guided tour only). The walls, entirely covered with works of art and objects of all kinds, reflect the painter's passion for collecting. A must see!
