ESGLÉSIA DE SANT ESTEVE
Church of Romanesque origin in a neo-Romanesque style that has undergone several restorations and revivals in Parets del Vallès
This church of Romanesque origin, mentioned in historical documents since 904, the year it was consecrated by the Bishop of Barcelona, was rebuilt in 1947 in a neo-Romanesque style. The architect Francesc Folguera i Grassi was in charge of the project. He was also responsible for several restorations of religious buildings in Catalonia, such as the church of Mollet del Vallès and the Torre de l'Abat, in the Monastery of Montserrat. Since its consecration, the church has been enlarged several times, first in 1207 and then in the 15th century, and it has suffered several fires, first in 1707 during the War of Spanish Succession and then in 1936 during the Civil War. Part of the 13th century walls and apse have survived.
