Imposing private masia with a small chapel with a nave that preserves a circular tower from the medieval period
This imposing private masia on the edge of Bigues i Riells, documented since 1007, preserves a medieval circular tower and finely carved Gothic windows. It was enlarged twice: first in 1648 and then a second time during the Modernist period. Opposite the house, on the other side of the river, is a small chapel dedicated to Santa Maria del Villar. Dating from the 12th century, it consists of a single nave ending in a semicircular apse. It was completely refurbished in 1799, as can be seen from the inscription carved above the portal.
