This former tea room in Ise is the origin of a famous local pastry made with red bean and mochi paste: the akafukumochi. With its more than 300 years of existence, it is one of the must-see attractions of Oharai-machi, near Naiku. Japanese people flock to taste this delicacy in a historical setting, from where one can also contemplate the manufacturing process, which has hardly been modified since its origin. One tastes the akafukumochi sitting on the tatami in a warm atmosphere.
