This two-storey pagoda was built in 1223 by Hojo Masako, wife of Minamoto no Yoritomo, to receive her husband's ashes. It is the oldest in Kōya-san. It is classified as a national treasure and is on the World Heritage List. You can stay there for the night if you wish, ask the tourist office for information.
