This castle was built by Nagachika Kanamori, around 1580, on top of Mount Kameyama, overlooking the city. Although the walls are period, the main tower was rebuilt in 1968. The castle can be reached on foot by making your way through the peaceful Ofukuikeshita Park. The view from the castle over the surrounding valleys and mountains is breathtaking. It is also known as the castle in the sky. From Mount Inuyama opposite, you can see the castle that seems to float above the clouds when the conditions are right.
