VALDICHIESA
A walk to Valdichiesa will make you discover the rural side and the charming hills of the dei Giovi valley. The main road, situated between the two volcanic hills, crosses the Col pass where the sanctuary of the Madonna del Terzito was built at the beginning of the th century. Going back to the coast, Malfa, where the oldest archaeological remains of the island, especially a tomb dating back to the second half of the th century BC, also have a beautiful pebble beach. Not far from there, in the abandoned village of Capo Faro, there are still old fishing houses. On the west side of the island, the tiny port of Pollara, carved in the rock, offers a sandy beach, the only one of the island (the others are pebble beaches) and the waters of astonishing clarity. Along the west coast of the south, Leni is set by Leni, a village perched on the heights of Mount Fossa delle Felci, to arrive in Rinella, a lovely harbour, whose waters attract many underwater fishermen.
