One of the oldest campsites built by Disney around its parks, popular comfort levels from tent to pitch
This campground is one of the oldest sites built by Disney around its parks. It has been completely renovated and very well equipped, in the heart of a vast wooded area. It offers several levels of comfort, from tents to RV sites. Among the services: grill available, baby-sitting, pets allowed, bus to the parks... in short a little paradise for the whole family. It is a good alternative to the more expensive resorts offered by Disney.

One highlight of our stay was the large patio area, equipped with a BBQ grill and picnic table, perfect for enjoying meals together outdoors. Renting a golf cart was a game-changer for us; although the resort offers internal transit, having our own cart provided unparalleled convenience, with ample parking and swift access to all the outdoor amenities and activities.
Getting around was a breeze, whether we wanted to hop over to the Magic Kingdom or catch the Monorail via boat, or simply take a bus to explore other resorts and parks. The staff at Fort Wilderness were incredibly friendly and always on hand to assist, adding to the overall warmth of the experience.
Speaking of activities, there was never a dull moment during our stay. From swimming pools (complete with a thrilling slide) and hot tubs to tennis and pickleball courts, basketball, and a variety of water activities, there was something for everyone. We particularly enjoyed the lively Chip and Dale Singalong, where we roasted marshmallows and indulged in delicious s'mores—a true highlight for the entire family.
The resort also boasts two well-stocked camp stores, ensuring we had everything we needed right at our fingertips. Additionally, the fast-serve restaurant offered a decent menu, perfect for those times when we didn't feel like cooking.
What truly impressed us was the accessibility of the resort. From grocery delivery services to seamless Uber Eats integration, everything was designed with convenience in mind, making our stay even more enjoyable.
While housekeeping occurs every two days, it's advisable to bring along extra towels for the pool. Overall, our experience at Disney’s Fort Wilderness resort was nothing short of exceptional, and we can't wait to return for another unforgettable family vacation!
