The Yanagidani Kannon (Yokokuji temple) is located near the famous Otokuni bamboo grove. It is built on the slope of the mountain, and the inner building of the temple and the main hall are connected by a long corridor surrounded by a panoramic garden (Jodo-en). The study hall, open to the public, offers a relaxing view. More than 5,000 hydrangeas bloom here in June and during the summer months. In autumn, the bright red foliage creates an impressive spectacle.
