CHIESA DI SAN NICOLA DI TRULLAS
Romanesque church built in limestone, part of a monastery given to Camaldolese monks
Situated about 3 km from the village of Semestene, this Romanesque church dates back to the 12th century. With the exception of its two pediments, it has kept its original structure. Built in limestone, sandstone and trachyte, it was part of a monastery given to the Camaldolese monks in 1114. You can see the remains on the side. In Pisan-Lombard style, the facade of the church is divided in two, and the sides and the apse are decorated with small arches.
