THE GAME OF PASSION
Since 1930, the village of Masevaux has hosted an event of no other kind, which over the years has become a pilgrimage for more than one Alsacien, often practicing Catholic. During the five divine days of Lent, the Passion of Christ is played (in German) by almost two hundred volunteers and volunteer extras. Whether you're believing or not, the show is really worth the detour and the emotion is real. It attracts followers from all over Alsace, as well as from Germany and Switzerland. The theater replenishment lasts five hours, composed of the twelve paintings of the Passion of Christ (with a 30-minute transcript). A good command of Goethe's beautiful language is therefore advisable if you want to follow through!
