JÜDISCHES MUSEUM FRANKEN
Large museum housed in an house in Fürth tracing the history and daily life of the Jews in Franconia.
This museum - larger than it looks from the outside with its extension opened in 2018 - raises awareness about the history and daily life of the Jews in Franconia and especially in Fürth, which had a large Jewish community. There were up to five synagogues and a yechiva (school for the study of the Talmud) in Fürth. In this 18th century house, which belonged to a Jewish merchant, you can visit the mikveh (ritual bath) 9 meters underground, and the sukkah, a small room for the annual Sukkot festival.
