INSTALLATIONS THERMALES
The thermal baths in Bad Kissingen give the town the appearance of a Belle Epoque spa town.
The charm of Bad Kissingen lies in the various spa facilities which still give it its typical Belle Époque fin de siècle atmosphere. The many buildings, which were built in different eras, show different architectural styles from the 19th and early 20th century.
L’Arkadenbau it was built between 1834 and 1838 according to the plans of the architect Friedrich von Gärtner, to whom King Ludwig I entrusted many projects during his reign. A statue of the king stands in front of the entrance to the arcades. The Kurgarten is decorated with fountains and light effects. Several fountains allow you to fill up with mineral water.
The Brunnen- und Wandelhalle by the architect Max Littmann is probably the most beautiful and impressive building in Bad Kissingen. It is a must to see it from the inside, with its beautiful turquoise glass roof above the gold-coloured pipes. Twice a day, mineral water is dispensed. The large hall also serves as a concert hall.
The Regentenbau owes its name to Luitpold, Regent of Bavaria. The neo-baroque style of the building completes the complex when it opens in 1913. Inside there are several halls for parties and performances. The rooms are decorated with neo-rococo and Jugendstil elements.
The Spielbank (Casino) on the other side of the Franconian Saale has lost none of its elegance since 1868.
