BOGUE CHITTO STATE PARK
Beautiful natural haven south of Franklinton ideal for hiking or mountain biking trails
Bordered by the eponymous river on its eastern side, this state park is a beautiful natural haven south of Franklinton. You can come here to get a breath of fresh air, go hiking, or ride on the mountain bike trails (you have to provide your own bike). You can also rent inner tubes (large buoys) to float down the Bogue Chitto River, a popular activity in the area. To extend the pleasure, camping sites, ready-to-camp tents and chalets are available for those who do not wish to leave the area.
