Typical Acadian B&B with two double rooms and one family room.

In the Louisiana countryside, a typical Acadian B&B with two double rooms and a family room (possibility to rent the whole house). Barry, the owner, also offers to take you crayfish fishing, then to cook and taste them. Unique in the area! For two nights or more, he will also offer you a Cajun dinner. And in between, take the time to relax in his lovely garden overlooking a pond or from his lovely wooden gazebo.

This hidden gem in Kaplan is amazing. Beautiful rooms filled with antique furnishings. You feel safe and at home here with Barry. It’s quiet, peaceful…a place to get right with your soul, sitting out on his pier…, his cooking is the best. He is a kind, brilliant and fun guy to hang out with. Enjoyed his stories, seeing his beautiful place and hanging out with him. As a woman staying anywhere alone can be scary, not here I felt completely safe..I love this place, him and his sister treat you like family ❤️and I highly recommend staying or going out on a crawfish tour…, best thing in Kaplan..Crawfish Haven, Mrs. Rose’s Bed and Breakfast.

Barry & his family sure know how to give you a taste of Louisiana while making you feel part of the family. There is plenty of room for just you or your entire family, even RV space. The view is beautiful, especially in the early morning, and there is a very nice gift shop for you to browse.
Don’t just pass by Crawfish Haven/Mrs. Rose’s B&B, stop on by.

Great experience! Hate here’s two bags of crawfish during tour. They cooked and served them. Delicious.

I cannot say enough good about this experience, it was so much fun! I wouldn’t even call it a tour, it’s a total experience. If you like or are interested in crawfish, this is a must do trip!
We took our son to New Orleans for spring break, and he had one thing on his mind. Crawfish. He wanted to learn about them, see where they lived, catch them, and eat them! We did our homework and there were a few different options, but Crawfish Haven really caught our eye.

After deciding on Crawfish Haven, we then realized it was 2.5 hours from our hotel. I was on the fence about going, but my son really wanted to. So, I sucked it up, got a ride for us, and boy am I glad that we did! (Side note, if you need a ride SMB Transportation was awesome.)

Upon arriving we met Barry. He is an absolute gem. He was informative, fun, easy going, and knows his mud bugs! He gave us a lesson on crawfish and a history of the property and then we hopped in the boat and got ready to harvest! He showed us how to work the traps and we emptied 50 traps and caught over 30 pounds! It was the highlight of our vacation!

As our crawfish were cooking, he gave us a neat tour of the property. He really has a great sense of respect and history for the land he is on. And last but not least, we ate! He gave us as much as we could fit in our bellies and it was THE BEST, most fresh crawfish I have ever had!

Again, this was the coolest part of our entire vacation. I highly recommend making time for this excursion. You won’t be disappointed.
