Located in Inokashira Park, it is home to the fairytale world of the animated films of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata. The museum is attached to the Ghibli studios, which produced, among others, My Neighbour Totoro, Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. The museum's collection includes the material needed to make a cartoon, reconstructions of Hayao Miyazaki's workspace, his research notebooks, or his original drawings exhibited on the walls. An immersion into the Ghibli universe that will delight children, the only ones with access to the Catbus.

This visit is essential for all fans comic strip, manga and comic strip. You will find research, silhouette, techniques and an incalculable number of most beautiful drawings all than the others. I comic fans, but I detested the manga, and this visit made me watch this art with another eye. Just a small advice passing, watch the works of MIASAKI before the visit, that helps....
A must-see for fans of Miyazaki. This museum is really focused on works of Miyazaki and not really on the rest of the Ghibli studios.
You will find all his universe, a reconstruction of his work area, notebooks research that you can read as you want, original drawings exposed to the wall.
I loved the first room museum because it is shown us how " fonctionne" animation, its different techniques, etc., while use of extracts of film Miyazaki.
You may also attend the projection a short film made exclusively for the museum (a new short film every year!)
On the other hand I was disappointed by the shop that I found rather " luxe" compared to what you can find everywhere else in Japan, not enormously choice either.

Tickets for you can actually order them in France before leaving. For those who would not have thought it there is another solution: you can only buy them terminals in the combini LAWSON chain. If you do not know how to ask for a cash clerk of the market, it will be happy to help you!
You must choose the day and session (10h-14h-16h) in advance.
Attention because you have 30 minutes from the time you have decided to return in the museum. Beyond that, you will be outside and tickets are not refundable.

That done nevertheless many constraints, but it is worth it!
