On January 1st, torchbearers ski down Mount Lussari for the longest procession in the Alps.
The torchlight procession of Mount Lussari is considered the longest in the Alps. It takes place on the evening of January1st and marks the beginning of a new year. Two hundred skiers descend the Prampero piste from the top of Mount Lussari holding a lighted torch. At the foot of the mountain, thousands of visitors admire the spectacle. The event is accompanied by an artisanal and gastronomic market, with kiosks serving mulled wine.
