Safeya Binzagr is a painter born in Jeddah in 1940. Her family moved to Egypt when she was 7 years old. She brought with her impressions and sensations of her native city which she used tirelessly in her paintings. She returned to Saudi Arabia at the end of the 1960's to find that the face of her city was no longer the same. Modernity has driven out the traditional costumes, the interlacing of narrow streets, the neighborhood relations. Her quest for the old Jeddah is now exhibited in this gallery that she had built.
