CASTLE OF RA'OUM
Stone castle set atop a mountain overlooking the wadi, the Najran oasis and its old houses.
This stone castle, or what remains of it, dates back to the period of the Yemeni invasion in 1900. After seizing Najran, the Yemenis built this defensive castelet on top of the highest mountain to watch over the surrounding area. After visiting the Aan Palace, cross the Wadi Najran and climb for 30 minutes up the mountainside to reach the 1,000-metre-high castle. It dominates the surrounding area and offers a magnificent view of the wadi, the Najran oasis and its old adobe houses and palaces.
