Shataer is a good idea for locals commuting to work between Khamis Mushait and Abha. This small fast-food joint serves delicious falafel sandwiches. The chickpea puree dumplings are crushed into pita bread, baked in a traditional clay oven. The menu is in Arabic, but you can choose the sandwich you like from the photo. Manaqish, unleavened bread cakes sprinkled with zaatar (a thyme-like herb) and olive oil, or simple falafels are also prepared here.
