SHUBRA PALACE
Shubra Palace, built in 1905 and distinguished by its Ottoman architecture and Carrara marble-clad interiors.
The Shubra Palace is a residence built in 1905 for the Ottoman governor Ali Pasha. Elements of Ottoman architecture can be seen in the high windows with their rounded arches and bow windows, reminiscent of the old town of Al-Balad in Jeddah. The palace became King Abdulaziz's summer residence after he rallied Taif in his conquest of the kingdom. Two of his sons were born here, and it was here that he died in 1953. The palace was converted into a museum in 1996. Here you can admire the interiors veneered with Carrara marble.
