OLD TOWN OF YANBU
Historic district home to typical buildings, a night market, cafés and cheap fish restaurants.
The historic district developed along the Yanbu roadstead and to the west of what is now the commercial port. A few typical buildings with elaborate wooden balconies remain, notably around the main esplanade, including the house where Lawrence of Arabia lived during his stay in the city. The night market is one of the meeting points for the locals, who come here to do their shopping as soon as the stifling heat subsides. There are also numerous cafés and inexpensive fish restaurants.
