MONASTÈRE DE DOBRIĆEVO
Serbian Orthodox monastery on the banks of the Trebišnjica, with frescoes by Serbian painter and monk Georgije Mitrofanović.
Founded on the banks of the Trebišnjica River in 1232, this Serbian Orthodox monastery (Manastir Dobrićevo/Манастир Добрићево) was relocated when Lake Bileća was filled with water in 1965. Dedicated to the Presentation of Mary in the Temple, its catholicon (main church) blends Byzantine, Serbian and Dubrovnik Gothic styles. Despite several lootings and fires, it preserves frescoes made at the end of the 16th century by the Serbian painter and monk Georgije Mitrofanović (c. 1550-1630), fragments of 15th-century frescoes and 18th-century icons. Pleasant garden.
