Town of 11,500 inhabitants on the Una river, preserving the ruins of a fortress and boasting Europe's only mosque.
Located on the Una River, this town of 11,500 inhabitants, 92% Bosnian, preserves the ruins of a 13th century fortress rebuilt by the Ottomans. Just next door, as a symbol, are concentrated an Orthodox church, a Catholic church and a mosque. However, the city is bruised by the last war. Its restaurants, its houses on stilts and its two islets are no less charming. Then, 12 km north, Bosanska Otoka is even more peaceful with its twenty-four islets. It also has the only mosque in Europe installed on an island.
