MOSQUÉE ĆURČINICA
Mosque with nişans housing the headquarters of Livno's Islamic community.
This mosque (Ćurčinica Džamija) dates from 2014. It was built on the site of the only mosque in Livno destroyed by Croatian forces in 1994. The original building was erected around 1870 by the Islamic foundation (vakuf) of the Ćurčić family, which still manages this mosque and four others in Sarajevo and Travnik. Apart from its 19th-century nişans, the mosque is of little interest. However, this is where the headquarters of the Islamic community of Livno is located. The only other mosque in the city open for worship every day is the Hadži-Ahmet-Dukatar Mosque.
