Elegant five-arched stone bridge between the villages of Šuica and Galečić, spanning the region's main river, the Šuica.
Located between the villages of Šuica and Galečić, this elegant five-arched stone bridge (Galečka Ćuprija) spans the main river of the region, the Šuica (or Šujica), in the small polje of the same name. Dating from the Ottoman period, the now abandoned structure is best known locally as the "Roman Bridge of Šuica". The village of Šuica is known as the ancient Stridon, the birthplace of the Roman saint Jerome of Stridon, who translated the Bible into Latin in the5th century (and was most likely born in Slovenia).
