BASILIQUE DE GRADAC
Site containing the remains of a early Christian basilica, with a preserved crypt.
This site (Bazilika Posuški Gradac) contains the remains of a5th century early Christian basilica. Typical of early Dalmatian churches, but unique in Bosnia and Herzegovina in its form, the building (17.40 x 15.70 m) consists of a main church with apse and narthex and a chapel with apse added to the north in the early 6th century. The basilica was destroyed during the invasions around the 7th century, but it still has a crypt (closed to visitors) in which a finely decorated silver fibula (clasp) of Lombard origin was buried.
