Municipal museum exhibiting a small collection of pottery, artifacts from the Kakanj culture, machines, tools..
Established in 2015, this municipal museum (Muzej Kaknja) houses a small collection of pottery and objects of the men of the "Kakanj culture" (6000-4900 BC) from the site of Obre (6 km to the southeast), among others. It also includes stećci from the Middle Ages (outdoors) as well as traditional machinery, tools and furniture from the 19th and 20th centuries. Finally, a part is dedicated to the 1992-1995 war (weapons, ammunition...). Kakanj was indeed an important base for the Bosnian army and a large reception center for Bosnian refugees from the rest of the country.
