MONI ARCHANGELOU

The convent of the Archangel Michael is in activity, 5 km south of Aliki. Perched on the Aegean, it dominates a splendid landscape which one enjoys from the terrace. The infinite view overlooks the sacrosanct place of Greek Orthodoxy: Mount Athos, whose access is always reserved exclusively for men. The nuns must therefore be satisfied with seeing the sacred mountain from the shores of Thassos and this monastery established in the 12th century. Today, the visitor can enjoy the exceptional panorama, the clean gardens and the smell of incense in the beautiful church.
